Meet the Residents #5: Luca Restagno ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Meet Luca, engineering manager by day, indie maker by night. 8 products in 3 years โ€” only the last one stuck. Now building BlackTwist, a social media toolkit for Threads.

We're introducing each of the residents joining the Uneed Residency in Nantes, France, from May 26 to June 2.

8 products in 3 years.

The first 7? Flopped, sold off, or killed by API pricing changes. The 8th is the one ๐Ÿ˜.

Luca is an engineering manager by day, indie maker by night. The classic 9-to-5 / 5-to-9 lifestyle. And let's just say he doesn't take it easy on the second shift.

His current project

BlackTwist, a social media toolkit for Threads. Yes, Threads. After spending 3 years building his audience on X/Twitter, he decided to go all-in on a different platform. He admits it himself โ€” it's a bit crazy ๐Ÿ˜….

But it's working: recently, a single viral post on Threads brought them 120 signups in one go. The kind of signal that confirms there's a real market here.

The challenge, like many here? Marketing. The product is solid โ€” now it needs more eyes on it.

Why he's joining the residency

What he's coming for: meet passionate people, exchange unfiltered experiences, and leave with more energy than ever.

Fun fact: Luca picked up snowboarding at 40. According to him, it was still less risky than launching a new SaaS ๐Ÿ˜‚.

More residents coming soon

We'll introduce all of them before the residency kicks off ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Best,

Thomas from Uneed
